MMCT Venture has announced the application deadline for the third casino site of Connecticut has been pushed back until the 15th of October to be able to provide more time for towns interested into having a shot to be the host city. Reportedly, more towns have shown interest in being the home location of the third casino in the state and officials are delaying the site selection to be able to accommodate each one.

MMCT Venture is a joint effort by the Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot tribes who are behind the third casino. Rodney Butler, the Council Chairman for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, stated in a press release that from the beginning, the group has wanted to build the facility in a place that values the large investment that will be made.

The list of sites will be narrowed down to a final list once the window for applications has closed. The list of locations will be made public once only a few remain. Before making their final decision, a public engagement campaign will be created for each town finalists to help the company make their final decision.
