Media giant Televisa has announced it will be expanding its gambling and lottery business, already owning 17 venues in operation.

Media giant Televisa has announced it will be expanding its gambling and lottery business, already owning 17 venues in operation.

According to Reuters, the company's gaming business consists of casinos and a national lottery. It has approximately 17 casinos in operation under the brand name PlayCity. Its Multijuegos is an online lottery with access to a nationwide network of approximately 13,560 points of sale through electronic terminals, including point-of-sale terminals at OXXO stores.

The government of Mexico granted Televisa with a permit to set 55 casinos across Mexico, with the firm recently announcing it is seeking to expand its PlayCity casinos and its Multijuegos national lottery.
