After 28 years Paddy Power Betfair former CEO and Co-Founder Stewart Kenny has decided to part ways.

Paddy Power was first established in 1988. Three successful men launched the company, and to their surprise, 28 years later grew into something remarkable, one of the biggest gambling brands to date.

At the age of 15 Kenny started his own bookmaking business and then travelled to London where he trained with Ladbrokes for two years. After Kenny merged more than 40 betting shops Paddy Power was born.

"After 40 years in bookmaking and 28 years’ involvement with this business, Stewart has an enviable record in the industry and leaves a great legacy. He was instrumental in creating a highly successful international business from a small domestically-focussed retail operation at inception,” commented Gary McGann, Paddy Power Betfair’s current Chairman.

“Stewart, more than anyone, positively influenced the culture of the business. He played a hugely supportive role in the merger of Paddy Power with Betfair. He is retiring after many years of enormous service to the company and the industry. We wish him every success in the future and thank him for his incredible contribution to this business.”
