Developers say they will ultimately create 1,800 permanent jobs, but right now, the resort and casino is looking for 480 people to train as dealers for poker and other table games.

The Del Lago Resort and Casino in Seneca County has announced its first phase of hiring as preparations are made for the casino's opening next year.

Del Lago is hosting two information nights this month for those interested in attending its dealer school. Job applicants don't have to have any experience with table games to attend the sessions.

The first session is Sunday August, 21st at the Magee Firehouse in Seneca Falls. The second is Wednesday, August 24 at the Clyde Firehouse, both from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Those interested may apply to attend the casino's dealer school. After that training is complete, they have the option of applying and auditioning for a job as a table games or poker dealer. The casino is slated to open in February, 2017.
