The land-based casino has been built on the site of a former courtyard. Casino officials have pointed out that the new gaming floor’s size is almost the same as the one on the riverboard. However, the new gambling venue will offer visitors more gaming options. It will feature 1,000 slot machines and 19 table games.
Nancy Ballenger, Vice President and General Manager of Isle of Capri Casino Bettendorf, said that final testing is now conducted and that the property is ready for the Friday grand opening. The official further noted that the gradual relocation of riverboat casinos on land has been putting an end to a fabulous era.
Ms. Ballenger pointed out that gambling patrons’ expectations have changed and casino operations need to be adapted to their demands and needs. According to her, bringing the venue to land would provider customers with “very convenient experience.”
The amount of $60 million has been invested in the project. Apart from the gaming floor, the Bettendorf complex will also feature new restaurants, a bar, as well as a number of other facilities.
Here it is also important to note that the complex will also include two hotel towers. Those have been built years ago and have welcomed customers of the riverboat casino which is now moving on shore. The two towers feature 514 hotel rooms in total. Almost half of those were renovated last summer in preparation for the casino’s relocation. Isle of Capri spent $8.5 million on refurbishing the south hotel tower.
The creation of a pocket park around the casino property would be the next development stage. Ms. Ballenger revealed that they are working with city officials on the project. If approved and established, the park would provide visitors of the complex with the chance to get closer to the Bettendorf riverfront as there will be seating areas, a lot of green space, fishing facilities, and many more.
The grand opening ceremony for the relocated Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf is slated for 10 am on Friday, June 24.
