The Mohawk council of Kahnawake is raising serious concerns about a new law making its way through the Quebec legislature.

Authorities in the Canadian province of Quebec are getting ready to enforce a blacklist of over 2,000 unregulated online gambling sites.

Bill-74 is aimed at preventing Quebec residents from being able to choose from different online gaming sites. The intention is to make Lotto Quebec an online monopoly.

But as Danielle Rochette reported, the Mohawks say that’s an infringement of their sovereignty and their territorial rights that extend into cyberspace.
