Innovative Technology’s banknote validators has received certification from the Bank of England due to their ability to identify genuine and counterfeit Bank of England banknotes.

The NV9 USB+ - next generation banknote validator, the NV10 USB – compact stackerless validator and the NV200 – a high volume, high security validator, all received a 100% grade for accepting authentic banknotes and rejecting counterfeits.

Lead Currency Support Engineer, Ben Wright, was present during the testing process and said, “The outstanding result demonstrates the high level security features of our products as well as our unmatched reliability. We have always emphasized the importance of collaborating with the Bank of England, as their support allows us to ensure our currency datasets are correct and up to date.” With the introduction of the new £5 polymer towards the end of 2016, the cash handling industry is set to undergo a considerable change in the near future. ITL are already deep into the development process for the updated £5 polymer datasets and will be equipped to deal with the forthcoming banknote.

The full results for the testing of automatic banknote handling machines can be found on the Bank of England’s website.
