The completed expansion of the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was officially celebrated with a ribbon cutting and special appreciation ceremony on Monday, May 9. Included in the ceremony were tours of the facility’s new amenities, as well as remarks from public officials and casino leadership.

The casino’s new attractions were showcased in the ribbon cutting ceremony and include the SugarHouse Marketplace, which features Philadelphia brands Tacconelli’s Pizzeria, Saxbys Coffee, Geno’s Steaks, Revolution Grill, a brand new local concept, Poker Night in America Poker Room, the multi-purpose Event Center, and Hugo’s Frog Bar & Chop House.

General Manager Wendy Hamilton said they were excited to wrap up the expansion and be able to introduce guests to the bigger and better SugarHouse. She said, “From world-class entertainment and dining to expanded gaming, SugarHouse is one of Philly’s premiere destinations for a night on the town or to hold a group event,” according to Business Wire.

The Rush Street Gaming operated property broke ground on July 22, 2014, and began construction on the casino’s $164 million expansion. The expansion was designed by Cope Linder Architects of Philadelphia and increased the facility’s 108,000 square feet to approximately 260,000 square feet, which doesn’t include the approximate 600,000 square feet of the new seven-story parking garage. Forty-four additional table games, a 28-table poker table room, and 289 new slots are offered in the larger gaming area. New non-gaming amenities were also added, including The Event Center and additional restaurants.

Every year since opening, SugarHouse has been voted a “Top Workplace” and “Best Place to Work” by its Team Members.
