Tribal leaders told The Columbian that their members are getting priority for jobs at the Cowlitz Casino Project.
But they are also planning to hire many from the local community. “It is a very bright future for the tribe that was landless,” Chairman Bill Iyall told the paper.
The casino is due to open in the "late spring 2017," according to the facility's website.
The tribe plans to open a hotel further down the line and hire even more people.
