The Midori Clark Hotel and Casino opened its doors to the public on April 27.

Dr. Irineo Alvaro, president of BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corp. (BBI), which operates Midori Clark Hotel and Casino, said the opening of the casino is “the first pillar that shall open wide investments bigger and bolder.”

“We have made the first step that shall trigger other steps, which are bigger and much better,” he said, before leading the ceremonial toast for the casino’s soft opening.

The Midori Casino will be introducing its high-end slot machines by Aristocrat. The behemoth slot machine, the first in Asia because not even Macau has it, was also first introduced at Midori Casino.

He said Aristocrat, a company driven “to create the world’s greatest gaming experience every day,” will be making Midori Casino one of its showcases in Asia before its products will be introduced to the other casinos in Asia.

The registered name of the hotel is Central Summit International Leisure Hotel Inc. Alvaro said that, by the end of the year or the first quarter of next year, the “Aqua Planet,” a multibillion water theme park, will also be opened there.

Another first at Midori Casino is the latest software of Silicon Valley technology, a full radio frequency identification system.

“No one in the country has this kind of material. It’s the benchmark we are introducing for gaming and recreation here at Midori Casino,” he said. “It is the first intelligent table gaming.”

Alvaro thanked Jack Yang, BBI chairman, as well as mayors Marino Morales of Mabalacat City and Edgardo Pamintuan of Angeles City, and Rep. Joseller Guiao of Pampanga.

The BBI president was profuse in thanking the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) President and COO Eugene D. Manalastas and Director Enriquito M. Nuguid who were in attendance.

The casino soft opening initially put online 140 machines and 12 gaming tables, including the biggest in Asia. Eventually, 20 more gaming machines will be added, as well as 27 additional tables. Two food and beverage outlets are also now operational for casino operations, Alvaro said.

Covering 9,900 square meters (106,500 square feet), Midori Clark is slated to have 111 rooms, suited using eight different floor plans.

The venue will also include a 400-capacity ballroom, according to a press release. Other nongaming amenities include five dining outlets, gymnasium, spa, karaoke venue, mahjong rooms and swimming pool.
