The state commissioned finalized its schedule for public deliberations during a meeting on Thursday morning in Boston.
“We are quickly coming to deliberation, scheduled to begin April 26 and could extend for a four-day period,” said Ed Bedrosian, executive director for the gaming commission.
The first day of deliberations at the Shaw’s Center will allow members of the five-person commission to share each of their evaluation reports on the application presented by Mass Gaming and Entertainment, the local affiliate of the Chicago-based Rush Street Gaming, which hopes to build the casino at the Brockton Fairgrounds. On the first day the commissioners will focus on the Brockton proposal’s finances, economic development, and building and site plans.
On the second day of deliberations, the commissioners are scheduled to focus on mitigation, and the so-called “wow factor” of the overall casino plan.
The decision on whether to issue a license for the Brockton casino is on track to take place on April 28, when the commission is scheduled to deliberate until making a decision.
Bedrosian said the public deliberations could extend to a fourth day, but that they would move the meeting place from Brockton to Boston if the deliberations stretch to April 29.
The deliberations, starting each day at 10 a.m., will also be streamed live on the web through a link at the commission’s website.
