The Riviera neon sign will be kept at the Neon Museum in Nevada and will be the only piece of the famed casino that saw acts such as Frank Sinatra and Liberace headline survive demolition later this year.
The casino had been struggling over recent years with much of the area where the Riviera stood was left un-developed and deterred walk-in business.
In a deal worth $190 million the venue was purchased by The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors in February 2015 with plans to replace the 26-acre site with an expanded Las Vegas Convention Center.
