Recently, Betcade expanded its executive team and opened its London office. Yogonet spoke with David Chang about the feedback that its app received and the company's plans for the next months.

What is Betcade focusing on in London?

Betcade is working on creating the first 3rd party app store completely dedicated to the gaming industry. Right now, there isn’t an easy way for users to find, download, and deposit into gaming apps on Android phones, and that is a shame.

What feedback did the app store receive from the industry so far?

We have received a tremendous amount of positive feedback along with very constructive advice on how we can meet the gaming industry’s unique business requirements. As an entrepreneur there is no greater sense of satisfaction than realizing you have a product that will make a real difference in an industry. So far all of the feedback indicates that Betcade is going to be well received.

What are the industry's needs that Betcade's app store comes to satisfy?

Right now if you own an Android phone or tablet, you are accessing gaming content via the browser. And that’s so unfair. Why should Android users receive a poorer quality experience than people that use iPhones or iPads? It is Betcade’s goal to create a user experience that users recognize and are comfortable with and that begins with the store experience.

What are the top trends facing the industry in 2016?

What I have noticed, more than anything, is a change in attitude and perspective, which is very exciting. I really believe that the gaming industry is seeking out change and in many ways to modernize. In my conversations in the industry I feel that many people are exploring and learning the best practices from other digital/mobile industries. There is so much innovation happening now and I really hope it continues.

A trend that really needs encouragement is a focus on user design and experience. It’s true that gaming apps are largely transactional focused and I definitely understand the importance of economics. However, our space is getting more and more competitive, and in a competitive market user experience is one of the most important ways to distinguish yourself. We need to focus on providing an entertaining, delightful experience.

What will be your main focus over the next few months?

Our focus over the next few months will be almost completely on business operations. I often tell our team that the company is at a point where we just need to deliver on our commitments. The industry understands our value proposition and we know we will offer a compelling user experience – now we’re making it happen.
