Which products did you choose to feature at ICE 2016?
The latest cabinet we presented at the show is the Diamond Excel, an innovative product with modern features, the JCM iVizion bill validator and the printer Futurelogic Gen2U, among others. We also showcased our oldest and popular cabinets: Diamond HD and Diamond DWS. As for our games library, we exhibited several multi-games and jackpots such as Lab Creatures, with 25 games and three jackpot levels: green, blue and yellow. As a novelty, we unveiled a 4-game multigame called Diamond Quattro, with two mystery jackpots and three levels. Depending on the bet, the player may participate in one of the jackpot levels.
What is DLV's core market and what are your expansion plans for the year ahead?
The Latvian market is and will always be our core market. We have almost 50 gambling halls in Latvia, and last year we made refurbishments in many of them. Taking this into account, we will continue to carry out renovations on our properties with the aim to meet every customer's expectations. We can also proudly say that DLV has a strong presence in Ireland, Moldova and other European countries. Although DLV is not represented in the UK, the UK market is not our focus for the time being. We're eying Latin America at the moment, for it is a big market in which we see a lot of opportunities for growth.
What are the most prominent opportunities in Latin America?
We are very satisfied with Argentina's changes in government and are seeking for new ways to enter the market.
Peru has been the main market for us because we have one of our offices in the country, with more than 500 machines and a constant increment of machines in the country
But I'd say Argentina, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Panama are definitely the markets we're focusing on right now.
How has the mergers and acquisitons phenomenon impacted your business?
I don't think we have been affected by these changes. Although big companies have both more growth opportunities and resources, small and medium-sized companies have their own advantages as well, for they are more flexible, faster and they offer more affordable prices than these gaming giants. Also, smaller companies can engage with customers in a more personalized way. So no, we were not affected by this trend in our industry.
