Did 2016 ICE Totally Gaming meet your expectations?

Our goals at ICE 2016 were to meet our customers, old and new, and to discuss their future road maps - we had a very successful show in that respect. Meeting industry colleagues on the floor and discussing the opportunities that new entrants into the market and new jurisdictions will bring in 2016 delivered some very interesting prospects for the future, it's going to be a very exciting year ahead at NMi.

It was clear to see that ICE was exceptional this year, there were exciting and innovative products and technologies that clearly demonstrate the growth in iGaming

What were the most discussed trends at the show?

We are always focusing on emerging markets and the requirements of new regulated jurisdictions, there was a clear focus this year on Colombia, Mexico, Poland and Portugal. Our regulatory team will be keeping an eye on all the hot markets in 2016 so we can support our current and new customers during the coming year, in fact we've already seen an increase in enquiries relating to emerging markets.

How has the growth of iGaming influenced the development of the London exhibition?

It was clear to see that ICE was exceptional this year, there were exciting and innovative products and technologies that clearly demonstrate the growth in iGaming. Alongside our existing customer's technological developments we recognized the increase in new market entrants across all verticals including lottery, Daily Fantasy sports and hybrid games.

Which of your products attracted most attention from visitors?

We believe that the worldwide coverage that NMi has within new jurisdictional markets was of significant interest this year, especially the talent and expertise we have in adapting to new trends in mitigating regulatory compliance risk. However, if we were to identify one key area of popularity, it would be our consolidation services in security and auditing, we're reducing time and costs for our customers through risk and gaps analysis of multi-jurisdictional licensees to satisfy their security requirements.

What happened after the conclusion of ICE? Are you seeing results yet?

Following the show and moving into Spring of 2016 we're seeing 4 new key markets open their doors to iGaming in a big way. We've made a substantial effort in these areas and now that these deadlines are getting nearer, we're picking up the pace to meet market demand. I won't lie and say that new market opportunities don't come with their own issues, but what the past 4 years in Europe has shown, it's only a matter of adapting our experience in the right areas.

Clarion Events expects that by 2020 ICE will see the exhibition fully occupying the entire site at ExCel. Will there be room for start-ups, small companies and next-generation operators at the international trade show?

Smaller operators will always be the innovators and disrupter's in the industry, the ability to take chances, move quickly, and adapt to new markets is their advantage. You can see their importance across the B2B landscape, with more and more service providers tailoring to this type of business model.
