In an attempt to block overseas online gambling operators advertising in the country, the regulator has warned any foreign non-licensed operator will not be allowed to advertise in any form following the new guidance regulations covering TV, radio, print and digital.
With the expected introduction of regulations and new laws covering online gambling within the country happening sometime this year, the regulator is planning for provisions towards this with the move.
However many online gambling operators are frustrated with the slow progress of online gambling regulations from the government, currently opposition parties want a 29% uniformed tax, the same for land based casinos, but this is causing arguments saying that the tax would make the business un-viable.
June 2015 was the original date for the government to launch the new regulations and some observers even believe it could take till mid-2017 if the tax burden issue is not resolved.
