Melco International Development and MelcoLot have abandoned a project to develop a casino in Georgia.

The company, which had been working with several partners on the proposed casino in Tbilisi, announced to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it had failed to reach an agreement with the owner of the site, Dhabi Group Georgia.

The plan was to open a casino inside the five-star Millennium Biltmore Hotel complex soon to open in central Tbilisi by Arab investment company Dhabi Group.

“Although every effort has been made to negotiate with Dhabi on the lease terms, the parties are unable to reach an agreement on terms satisfactory to MelcoLot,” the companies said.
