Yggdrasil Gaming has submitted the formal application to obtain a B2B remote gaming license from the Gibraltar Licensing Authority.

In December, Yggdrasil received its licenses by the UK Gambling Commission to offer its proprietary gaming platform and games to British residents.

Yggdrasil, which is based in Malta with offices in Poland, has expanded rapidly over the past 12 months, signing numerous leading operators and releasing a wide range of new games and promotional concepts.

On the new Gibraltar license, Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO of Yggdrasil, said: “We were over the moon to be invited to apply for a Gibraltar license. It’s an exclusive jurisdiction, with a number of the major operators based there, and we believe it will be a fantastic new hunting ground for us.

“We’ve pretty much covered all the player liquidity available from the operators in Malta, so now is the time for us to be targeting Gibraltar where we will be building up our presence.

“We’ll be putting some people on the ground in Gibraltar and are actively recruiting. We strongly believe we can hit the ground running as we have carved out a niche for ourselves that is different from other suppliers.”
