Lottomatica has received a Responsible Gaming recertification from the European Lotteries Association (EL).

EL recertifies triennially, with Lottomatica first receiving certification for its responsible gaming programs in 2009. In tandem with the EL recertification, Lottomatica also received recertification from the World Lottery Association (WLA) for the Company’s Level 4 accreditation.

Lottomatica’s assessment to obtain certification renewal was carried out by an independent third party, which verified Lottomatica’s commitment to planning and developing a program aimed at player protection and promotion of a responsible gaming model.

The Lottomatica Responsible Gaming program is inspired by international best practice and allows supervision of game management process, with awareness and attention to its possible social impacts. The guiding principles that inspired the Responsible Gaming program are the prevention of underage gambling, and supporting players who have a problematic approach to gambling.

The program is regularly updated through dialogue and cooperation with national and international stakeholders, such as trade associations, universities, and research bodies; associations of experts in problem gambling; and associations dealing with the protection of minors. Also this year, with regard to underage gambling, Lottomatica, in collaboration with the Federation of Italian Tobacconists (FIT) and the Italian Parents Movement (MoiGe), has initiated the "Let's spread the word" project to promote and educate parents and adults about the ban in Italy on gambling by
minors.

The project consists of a campaign in newspapers, magazines, web pages, and social networks, and an informative tour of 24 Italian cities with the aim of increasing and strengthening awareness of the ban.

“These certifications from the European Lotteries and World Lottery Association reaffirm Lottomatica’s ongoing commitment to responsible gaming and player protection,” said Fabio Cairoli, CEO, Lottomatica. “Lottomatica has always promoted gaming as a form of entertainment, with an emphasis on legal and responsible play. By adhering to the responsible gaming framework established by EL and WLA, we work to continuously improve our responsible gaming programs in the areas of research; employee education programs; product and service development; remote gaming; advertising and marketing communications; client awareness; stakeholder engagement; and reporting.”
