Attendees at next week’s ICE Totally Gaming tradeshow will discover the path forward for technology and standards, thanks to two critically important panels presented by the Gaming Standards Association (GSA).

“This is a turning point in the gaming industry’s history, and at ICE, we will realize we have a choice: utilize technology to advance the industry or let it overwhelm us. At GSA, we are encouraged about gaming’s future, and stand ready to help the industry find the path forward,” said GSA President Peter DeRaedt.

On Wednesday, 3 February, GSA will present a “GSA Briefing” in the South Gallery, Room 23, between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The briefing is comprised of two important panels for CTOs and technology managers.

The first, “Gaming Innovation in Regulated Markets,” takes place from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and will address innovation in gaming. The session will focus on how technical regulatory standards could address future technologies for faster adoption and speed to market. Appearing on the panel are John English, CEO, WEBE Gaming; Mario Galea, CEO, Random Consulting; and Bernie Melanson, CEO, Steamsharp.

Next, GSA turns to online for the panel, “Online Gaming Regulation in Europe,” with a focus on technical standards. The panel asks the questions: Are there too many online gaming regulations in Europe, and if so, can the industry use technology to address problems of convergence and harmonization? Panelists include: Ian Ince, Global Compliance Officer, Playtech; Mark D’Andrea, Advisor, UK Gambling Commission; Andre Wilsenach, Executive Director, International Center for Gaming Regulation, UNLV; Allan Pedley, Principal Consultant, Governance Associates Ltd.; and Ethan Tower, GSA’s Protocol Director.

GSA will also be talking with attendees about the role that GSA can provide in Europe.
