Borgata announced that will commit a significant USD 50M investment to Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, as part of a plan to renovate and improve the property.

According to Tom Ballance, President and Chief Operating Officer for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa works will be carried out throughout 2016.

The company’s capital investment will go to broad range of projects, including the launch of a new nightlife experience, a new fine dining concept, 25,000 sqft of meeting and convention space and a spectacular brand new outdoor pool. Furthermore, Borgata will partner with Siganos Management, Inc. on a transformation of The Cafeteria Food Court into a new casual dining eatery.

“Borgata’s continued reinvestment in our property and its commitment to Atlantic City is categorically unmatched in the region,” said Ballance. “The constant reinvention of our business has been a core principal since entering the market in 2003, and we are pleased to continue developing the type of engaging product that our customers have come to anticipate and expect.”

Last month Borgata first unveiled plans for its nightlife experience called Premier Nightclub. Designed by Josh Held, the 18,000 sqft venue will reignite the Atlantic City nightlife scene with its spring 2016 debut.

Also was recently announced by Bogarta the addition of chef Michael Symon to its fine dining roster. With the debut of his new Borgata signature restaurant, Symon joins fellow Iron Chefs Bobby Flay and Geoffrey Zakarian, as well as legendary chef Wolfgang Puck in an unprecedented and star-studded culinary lineup.

One of the most exciting endeavors this year is Borgata’s outdoor pool and entertainment grounds. The venue will introduce guests to a distinctively refreshing concept with over 400 chaise lounges, daybeds and cabanas, a full-service canopied bar, entertainment stage, and a variety of lawn games and activities, all centered around a 3,200 square-foot Roman-style pool.

In addition to the outdoor pool, Borgata will partner with restaurateur and real estate developer George Siganos this spring to unveil The Marketplace Eatery, a casual dining experience located below Borgata’s Poker Room and The Racebook. Supplanting the space currently occupied by The Cafeteria, The Marketplace will offer an array of fresh, quick-service fare in an inviting and inclusive atmosphere reminiscent of a European bazaar.

Scheduled for Q4 of 2016, Borgata will be adding 25,000 square feet of conference space to accommodate additional meetings and conventions. Still in the planning phase, the space will include two levels, boasting a 7,000 sqft ballroom, four meeting rooms, one board room, one office and a prefunction area on each level.

“Borgata has never been the type of company that rests on our laurels,” said Joe Lupo, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Senior Vice President of Operations. “Our aggressive nature is such that, not only are we debuting a brand new nightclub, restaurant, and outdoor pool, we are spending an additional US$12.5 million in maintenance capital annually.”

Included in the annual US$12.5 million in property-wide disbursements is a refresh to both B Bar and Boot N’ Whip Racebook bar along with several fine and casual dining outlets, as well as US$2.5 million dedicated to original and exclusive slot product.
