What do you expect from this edition of ICE?

As an attendee, ICE is where I expect to see an array of diverse offerings from every segment of the gaming industry. ICE has become the technological hub for the land base and interactive areas of gaming globally.

Ortiz Gaming has high expectations for ICE. This is an important show for the company because of our significant expansion throughout Europe last year, as well as our growth in the iGaming arena.

Our interactive division allows Ortiz Gaming’s renowned video bingo games to now be played on any platform, from land based, to social, to mobile, and more.

What products will you be showcasing?

At ICE we will exhibit a number of products which will reflect the versatility of our products and our commitment to both the players and operators. Our goal is to allow the player to game anywhere, while giving operators the opportunities for new revenue streams, and our iContent product does just that.

iContent makes the entire Ortiz library of games available as content for interactive platforms, including social media, mobile and online. Ortiz Gaming also has various server based options, which add flexibility for operators.

We will also exhibit our biggest hit games globally, as well as some new titles, and our famous O-Future and O-Circle cabinets. These cabinets are always a hit at shows, for their hi-tech avant garde look.

What will be the key trends in the gambling arena in 2016?

Technology and innovation! We have entered a new era of gaming and the key to success is staying ahead of the technological curve.

Will start-ups and small companies be able to survive the wave of industry mega-mergers?

Of course. This is a whole new industry we are stepping into; we already see various smaller companies claiming their stake of the market share.

These mega-mergers have changed the landscape of the industry, but it looks like there is more room now for smaller companies to grow. This industry has seen the smaller operators conquer the industry to become gaming giants.

The gaming industry is going through deep changes. Why is it so important to come about with new legislation?

Regulation is the key to a strong gaming economy. When there is poor regulation or structures, it creates economic uncertainty and a bad environment for the players, operators and suppliers. The market is promising when there is a strong and solid regulatory system in place, creating robust economics. This has been seen in various markets in which regulation has allowed the industry to flourish.

What are your business goals both in the short and long term? Are millennials one of your target demographics?

Millennials and all generations because of our iconic bingo games. Bingo is something all ages can relate to. But there is another aspect to our games: they are fun, exciting and happy. These games are built to generate smiles and have players always enjoy the experience, and this has been significant in attracting the millennial market.

Additionally, with our games now available in multiple platforms, I believe the millennial customer base may become our majority.
