Horseshoe Cleveland's total revenue in 2015 of $212.7 million was the highest of all casinos, spokeswoman Shannon Mortland said in an email.
"It also had the highest percentage payout (to guests) on slots of any casino in the state (92.37 percent)," she wrote. "Our guests had a very good year on the slots, including one guest who won $216,000 on a slot machine the day after Christmas."
Statewide casino revenue for December was $71.6 million, compared to $70.7 million in December 2014.
While the Cleveland casino ranked first among casinos, Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park, with $18.9 million in revenue, was the top revenue producer of all casinos and racinos in December. That racino provided about 26 percent of the total statewide racino revenue of $72.7 million, according to the Ohio Lottery Commission. Statewide racino revenue in December 2014 was $64.7 million.
Thistle Down Racino, which had its worst month in November since it opened in April 2013, saw an increase in revenue to $8.5 million in December. The racino is being renovated.
The state commission and lottery define revenue as the money left after casinos and racinos pay winners and deduct for promotions. Casino and racino officials have said comparing monthly revenues to the same month the previous year is a good indication of how well they are doing.
