Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland in Oklahoma opened a six-story hotel with 120 rooms.

The company marked the opening of the USD 80M entertainment destination’s hotel with a ribbon-cutting celebration.

“Creating good jobs for our people is the primary goal of all our business endeavors at the Cherokee Nation. Not only does this new facility fulfill that goal, but it will also bring a lasting impact on the region, as well as help build the economy of Sequoyah County and the Cherokee Nation,” said Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Bill John Baker.

The 170,000-square-foot property has brought 300 additional jobs and added amenities to the region.

“I want to thank everyone for their hard work. Before I became a council member, I kept my eye on everything the Cherokee Nation was doing for its people. When you look at this facility and an entity like CNB, CNE and the Cherokee Nation, you look at what it provides to the employees. Working here gives them the opportunity to meet their family’s goals and leads to a better way of life,” said Bryan Warner, Cherokee Nation tribal councilor for district 6.

The hotel opens into the heart of the casino where guests have access to various entertainment options, including 850 electronic games, table games and a private High Limit poker room. Lee Creek Tavern, the entertainment venue inside the resort, offers live music and cocktails.

The resort-style hotel features a nearly 5,000-square-foot contiguous convention space, offering guests the ability to host conferences, special events, weddings and trade shows.

Two dining options are available on the property. Grab & Go is a quick, convenient option for delicious café style foods or a Starbucks coffee. The Buffet offers Las Vegas-style buffet foods and a wide array of desserts.

The casino and hotel resort offers a covered parking garage, and free valet provides the utmost convenience and accessibility for guests.

“The completion of the hotel is a major historical milestone for the area. While this new entertainment destination is a huge career and economic driver for the people of Sequoyah County, it also represents the growth and success that we’ve had in Roland. This is where our company started, and, today, we are proud to reinvest in this community,” said Shawn Slaton, chief executive officer for Cherokee Nation Businesses.

The first Cherokee Nation Bingo Outpost opened in Roland in 1990 and had 64 employees. Twenty-four years later, the property has become one of the region’s leading entertainment venues with more than 500 employees operating the facility.

“It’s a great day in the Cherokee Nation. It’s nice to sit here and look at all the employees, and think about the quality and quantity of life that this facility is bringing to this area. That’s what we have to look forward to,” said David Thornton Sr., Cherokee Nation tribal councilor for district 5.
