Around 100 Influential decision-makers, representing local and international regulators, operators, suppliers, finance and law companies, met to network, to share ideas, and to talk frankly about the current regulatory challenges within the CEE market.

The event also saw over 50 organizations and 20+ countries represented at the one-day conference, which was hosted by Clarion Events at the Novotel Bucharest City Centre hotel on December 2.

With an impressive speaker line-up, delegates were given the opportunity to listen to major industry regulators, including Odeta Nestor, President at the Romanian National Gambling Office, Tereza Cejpová, Head of Unit, Methodology, Supervision and New Games Unit at the Czech Republic's Ministry of Finance, Tereza Cejpovaand Janis Laganovskis, Chief of Licencing at Latvia's Division of Law Department, Lotteries and Gambling Supervisory Inspection.

They, along with the CEE’s other major regulators, were treated to the latest news regarding developments in these major emerging markets.

Angel Iribozov, chairman of the Bulgarian Gaming Association (BTAMOGI) trade group, gave delegates an update on the key issues in his home country, presenting a balanced view of his nation’s progress.  Iribozov also outlined Bulgaria’s strategy in relation to problem gambling, adding: “The responsible gambling regulations were also finally passed this year and they will give new impetus to responsible gambling behaviour of the stakeholders.”

Odeta Nestor, President at the Romanian National Gambling Office, added: “WrB was a great opportunity for us, as a regulator, to present you the new rules that we have worked on for more than a year and a half.”

Clarion Events Event Director Rory Credland, on-site in Bucharest, said “We are thrilled with the feedback we have received from attendees, and we are already putting plans in place to ensure the WrB series continues this positive momentum heading into next year,”

The next event in the WrB series will be WrB Africa, which will take place in the spring of next year in Lagos, Nigeria.
