Betsson has appointed previous Google executive Marion Gamel as its brand-new Chief Advertising Officer.

Gamel, who most recently served as vice-president of marketing at Eventbrite, will take up her new role with Betsson next month.

Prior to her time with Eventbrite, Gamel enjoyed a seven-year agreement with search engine giant Google, where she held a number of senior roles.

Gamel joined Google in 2003 and was a founding member of the firm’s European marketing team, before going on to serve as marketing manager for the UK and Ireland.

She launched Google’s ‘Adwords’ and ‘AdSense’ services in the UK, in addition to various consumer products such as Gmail, Google Maps and Google News.

Gamel also created Google’s first-ever branding campaign in ‘Doodle4Google’, which has since been used in more than 20 markets, before going on to kick start the company's domestic operations in India.

Her final role with the search engine brand saw her become head of marketing for emerging markets, before she left to join Eventbrite.
