“SAGSE aims to be part of the reactivation of the industry in Latin America”

Monografie showed off its efforts to offer a high-level event in which companies found what SAGSE has been giving them for 23 years: a place to do business.

In 2014, the local difficulties had been seen in a reduction in the number of international firms, and this year the trend continued.

Smaller booth spaces and less machines on display were a few of the consequences of the Argentinian economic crisis.

It's important to stress that, in spite of the downturn in the country's economy, operators from Latin America attended the show to express their support to the Argentinian gambling sector. IGT, Aristocrat, BetConstruct, JCM, Copag, UB Gaming, GLI, Sirplay and Belatra were some of the international firms that chose to overcome the obstacles and exhibit at the 2015 edition of SAGSE. In the local field, companies such as Sielcon, BCM, ElectroChance, Ed Roberts, FCS, Selton and Daycon, opted to showcase their latest technologies at the Costa Slaguero Convention Center.

Despite the absences, exhibitors agreed that the quality and quantity of visitors was the expected.

"This is a defining year for the gambling industry in Latin America. Not only are we facing an economic crisis but also experiencing deep changes in several areas. Mergers have affected the international scenario, and the local industry is going through transformational times.

After this stand-by period, this new year presents a different opportunity and signs indicate that a reactivation of the market is on the horizon. SAGSE aims to be part of the reactivation of the industry in Latin America," said in a statement Alan Burak, SAGSE's General Manager.

Commenting on the future, SAGSE's organizer, Giorgio Gennari Litta, said, "We see positive signs looking ahead. Although some manufacturers and distributors have chosen not to invest in Argentina this year, they have already confirmed their attendance for 2016. We strongly believe that in a year or two SAGSE will return to be what it always was, the best business hub for the gambling sector in Buenos Aires."
