After a highly successful inaugural live event in 2014, which shattered a number of records, the Tonybet Poker OFC World Championship makes a keenly anticipated return to King’s Casino at the Corinthia Hotel in Prague, Czech Republic between 6th – 9th December with even bigger expectations.

The second running of the Tonybet OFC Poker World Championship series is made even sweeter this year by the addition of a Progressive Pineapple event for the very first time!

The full Tonybet Poker OFC World Championship schedule:

December 6th, 8pm: €350 buy-in Tonybet OFC Progressive Pineapple Event
December 7th, 3pm: €10,000 Tonybet OFC High Roller (Re-Entry)
December 7th, 8pm: €120 Last Minute Satellite to OFC Main Event
December 8th, 3pm: €1,000 Tonybet OFC World Championship Main Event (Re-Entry)

As the world’s biggest Open Face Chinese poker site, TonyBet Poker continues to grow and judging by last year’s results it seems only fair to anticipate even more this year. The first event, which featured two OFC tournaments, attracted the largest number of players in a live Open Face Chinese event as well as offered the biggest prizepool in OFC history.

One of those excited about the live OFC in Prague is Isabelle Mercier, who recently joined the Tonybet Poker team and is now an active ambassador for the game and for the site.

“I’m so excited about the Tonybet Poker OFC World Championship in Prague as this will be the very first time I get to play my favorite card game in an organised live event” said Isabelle. “I haven’t been travelling much lately, but for OFC, I would travel the world to play! I expect to have a lot of fun while I am over there and meet with a lot of old friends. Make no mistake though, I have my eyes firmly fixed on the title of World Champion and I’m very keen to get my hands on the Progressive Pineapple tournament trophy as it is one of my favorite OFC variations!”

The Progressive Pineapple tournament is a new addition to the World Championship calendar, which featured two regular Pineapple events last year. It will also have the lowest buy-in rate out of all three at €350, while the Main Event and the High Roller will maintain last year’s rates at €1,000 and €10,000 respectively.

Tonybet Poker is running online satellites NOW offering up to 15 seats to both the World Championship Main and the Progressive Pineapple events. Isabelle Mercier added: “Online qualifiers mean you have the chance to secure your seat at your convenience and I am positive that we’ll break last year's record of 135 entrants for the €1,000 World Championship Main Event. Tonybet Poker has shown itself to be progressive by adding Progressive Pineapple and I expect that tournament to be hugely popular too!”

Last year, the High Roller was won by famous American poker player, OFC aficionado and chess guru Jennifer Shahade, in a fantastic result for the exposure of the game.

“I had a wonderful time at the tournament – I'd never played a so-called "high roller" before. Though I’d played 10Ks in Main Events, this was quite different”, said Shahade, reminiscing on the first-ever OFC World Championship. “I noticed, ironically, that the atmosphere was more informal and relaxed. I also thought the staff did an exceptional job, especially considering how late the tournament ran. The food was amazing at King’s Casino, I'll always remember the steak and champagne I had after winning!”
