Andrew Bagguley, the md of Ladbrokes digital operations, is reportedly leaving the company and will be replaced by former Playtech exec Nick Zajdel.

No reasons for the change have been given, but it is a remarkable development, considering that Bagguley was promoted from within to the top digital post only six months ago, having joined Ladbrokes in 2014 from Deutsche Telekom.

His departure follows those of greyhound trading manager Richard Harkness, who reportedly took a redundancy package after 24 years with the company, and head of football trading David Burgin, who is departing to join the BoyleSports management team.

Prior to his appointment by CEO Jim Mullen as head of digital at Ladbrokes Bagguley was director of the company’s mobile and devices division, where he overhauled Ladbrokes mobile product strategy with technology provider Playtech.

Ladbrokes reported digital growth and a 71 percent increase in profit last year to GBP 14 million, and the company has repeatedly stressed the importance of the digital channel in the future.
