Rivers Casino contributes $7.5 million annually to the SEA, with two installments occurring in April and October. To date, Rivers has generated $48 million to help fund construction expenses for CONSOL Energy Center, one of the city’s premier entertainment venues and home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Rivers Casino will have contributed $225 million to the SEA for CONSOL Energy Center’s construction by the time the agreement concludes in 2038.
“Hockey season is right around the corner, and we are excited to see the Penguins return to CONSOL Energy Center. We’re proud to assist in making the arena a prime entertainment hub for the City of Pittsburgh through this agreement,” said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino.
Rivers Casino generates approximately $161 million each year for various organizations across Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and the Commonwealth, including Pittsburgh’s economic development and tourism fund.
“Rivers Casino continues to prove itself as a corporate leader and adamant supporter of the City of Pittsburgh by honoring this generous commitment,” said Wayne Fontana, chairman of the SEA and Pennsylvania State Senator.
