The outgoing leader of the Fremont Street Experience that manages the downtown Las Vegas pedestrian mall isn't moving far for his next job.

Jeff Victor has been hired by Derek Stevens, the co-owner and CEO of The D Las Vegas Casino Hotel, Golden Gate Hotel and Casino and now-closed Las Vegas Club, to be vice president of the company's operations.

Stevens said Tuesday that Victor would start Nov. 1. Victor spent more than nine years leading the Fremont Street Experience as its president and general manager. The company manages Fremont Street's public areas for the city of Las Vegas including animated shows on a canopy above and the SlotZilla zip line ride.

The Fremont Street Experience is searching for a new leader and described Victor's move as a planned departure.
