The Indian company builds an analysis tool for competitive matches of “Dota 2,” the online multi-player fantasy battle game from Bellevue’s Valve.
It was “Dota 2” that drew thousands of fans to Seattle last month to watch players square off for a share of $18 million, the biggest prize pool in e-sports history.
Unikrn didn’t disclose the price it paid DotaProHub. As part of the deal, DotaProHub’s two founders, Swaroop Hegde and Aditya Mukherjee, will move to Unikrn’s Seattle headquarters. A small team will continue working with the company in India.
Unikrn has pulled in about $10 million in investment from venture capital funds and a range of investment vehicles run by sports and media figures.
