Governor Cuomo has explored options of opening three new casinos in New York while New Jersey is toying with the idea of having a casino come to the Meadowlands. It really will pave the way for hundreds, if not thousands of new jobs in our area. New jobs means new opportunity and one woman saw an opportunity to begin a school focused on casino jobs.

Big Deal Casino School is the latest school to open in New York and is the first school catered to becoming certified in casino dealing.

“We teach all the casino games,” says Wendy Rubin, owner of Big Deal Casino school.  “Most classes are 80 hours.”

The instructors are former dealers themselves who spent decades inside big name casinos across the country.   They not only teach the rules and speed of the games, but how to interact with the players.

“At Borgata we referred to it as the five F’s,” says Thomas Caterina.  ” Fun, fast, fresh, friendly and focused – I need to entertain the guests and make them feel welcome.”

You must be 18 or older to take one of these courses that cost on average 800 dollars.

The school says the point is to certify a student and help get them a job in our area.
