Former Nevada Congressman Steven Horsford is helping MGM Resorts International make sure the casino company keeps its word to Prince George’s County officials and hires at least half its workforce for MGM National Harbor in Maryland from the county and contracts with minority-owned businesses.

Horsford’s R&R; Resources+ communications and workforce strategy firm was recently named the agency of record to lead branding efforts focused particularly on the region’s diversity for the $1.3 billion casino-resort project expected to open next year.

Las Vegas-based R&R; Partners, the firm behind the “What Happens Here, Stays Here” advertising campaign, is a minority investor in his agency and will be assisting.

Horsford partnered with R&R; in April. He started his career at the firm in 1996. His R&R; Resources+ is a certified minority business enterprise.
