IAGA has confirmed that Gavin Isaacs, President and Chief Executive Officer of Scientific Games, will address the 34th International Gaming Summit general session delegates with a keynote address that looks at the impact technology has had on the global gaming industry.

Across all industries and all geographies, the increase in the speed of technological progress has driven profound changes in both how and where we do business. In just the past 10 years, modern globalization has been heavily impacted by continuous advances in digital technologies – mobile devices, cloud computing, Internet of Things, social networks, Big Data and analytics – to name a few. The gaming industry has been both evolving and yet also at the precipice of monumental change, as consumer trends are changing the way we think about traditional gambling and global markets are becoming more sophisticated. Consolidation and convergence of lottery and gaming on the supplier side has been largely driven by the need for transformational innovation and scale to adapt to a hyperconnected and more accessible world. What challenges and opportunities have arisen for both gaming suppliers and operators in responding to fast-changing consumer preferences in a Digital Age? Are these changes connecting the global gaming industry or creating further divides?

For more than 16 years, Gavin Isaacs has held leadership roles with leading global gaming technology companies. Today, as President and Chief Executive Officer of Scientific Games, Isaacs oversees a premier gaming and lottery entertainment powerhouse that operates under an impressive portfolio of successful brands, including Bally, Barcrest, Global Draw, SG Lottery, Shuffle Master, and WMS. He is focused on improving Scientific Games’ performance and growth through the development of innovative products and services to help lottery and gaming customers grow their businesses.

Prior to joining Scientific Games in 2014, Gavin served three years as the Chief Executive Officer of SHFL entertainment, where he grew the company to record revenues, globally expanded the slot business, and created meaningful opportunities in specialty table game brands both in brick-and-mortar casinos and online. Before that, as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Bally Technologies, Gavin oversaw the rollout of the company’s new slot platform and sophisticated new slot cabinet family and was responsible for double-digit growth of participation revenue, as well as the company’s re-entrance into the Australia market.

Prior to joining Bally, Gavin served nearly eight years with Aristocrat Leisure Limited. During his tenure, Gavin held key management positions, including General Manager, Legal and Compliance; General Manager, Marketing and Business Development; and Managing Director, Europe, before being named Americas President in 2003. In this role overseeing the Company’s North and South America business, Aristocrat Americas became the largest financial contributor to the Aristocrat Group, posting record revenues, unit sales, and recurring revenues while achieving substantial margin increases. Before joining Aristocrat, Gavin was a partner with the leading Australia law firm DLA Phillips Fox, where he built their highly successful property services business unit. Gavin serves on the Board of Directors of the American Gaming Association as Vice Chairman; the Board of Directors of KNPR Nevada Public Radio© ; and previously served as the President of the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA).
