R. Franco to launch on-line operation in September

This was advanced by Alejandro Casanova, New Business Development Manager and Head of the R. Franco Digital division, at the conference entitled “Apps: A world of opportunities and risks”, organized by the Ramón y Cajal law firm.

Casanova added the launch, intended for the last quarter of the year, of an open platform to create and distribute games, an incubator, an accelerator and a fund to invest in projects within the chapter of new technologies and other digital actions by the company presided over by Jesús Franco. In Casanova’s opinion, the development and application of new technologies is changing the players’ profile and we need to attract them “with more social games that entertain more people”.

Previously, Miguel Ángel Lázaro, also from the R. Franco Digital division, analysed the current situation created by the proliferation of applications for cell phones and tablets, accessed by ever younger children, and the quasi-monopoly created by Android and IOS. In Spain, Lázaro added, there are 23 million app users with 3.8 million daily downloads, and an average of 39 apps per cell phone.

The session was completed with the conference by the lawyer Norman Heckh, from the Ramón y Cajal law firm, which dealt with the legal challenges posed by the new situation; Manuel García Sánchez, from the Spanish Data Protection Agency, spoke about the risks for privacy, and Diego Colchero, from Telefónica Open Future, commented on application entrepreneurship and cooperation and outsourcing in order to implement app creation plans.”
