International Game Technologies’ DoubleDown social casino has been named in a class action lawsuit represented by U.S. law firm Edelson PC.

Edelson PC specializes in plaintiffs’ consumer class actions and commercial litigation, with a focus on technology, privacy, and banking law.

The action filed by “Margo Phillips” alleges that IGT and DoubleDown have “illegally profited from thousands of Illinois consumers” by camouflaging “unlawful games of chance”.

Phillips claims she bought, wagered and lost over $1000 worth of chips at DoubleDown Casino, Courthouse News reported.

Phillips, who is represented by Rafey Balbanian from Edelson PC, is seeking to recover monies spent on chips as well as a damages award for unjust enrichment not just for herself but for other DoubleDown customers.
