HKJC names new legal and compliance chief
Poon, who will also be named as company secretary, will oversee the function that brings the HKJC’s legal and compliance activities together.
She will assume responsibility for safeguarding the HKJC’s interest and manage the club’s legal risks on compliance, while also leading the development of the HKJC’s compliance framework and its implementation and maintenance.
In addition, Poon will ensure that the club’s various operations and activities are conducted in accordance with the law in Hong Kong and other jurisdictions.
Poon joins the HKJC from PCCW Limited, the holding company of Hong Kong-based IT and communications firm HKT Group Holdings, where she served as group general counsel and company secretary for 17 years.
She also currently serves as an independent non-executive director of AZ Electronics Materials.
