Maryland casino revenues reach USD 91M
The Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, the state's newest casino that opened in August, brought in $24.7 million from both table games and slot machines in March, a 7 percent jump over February.
At the four casinos that were in business a year ago, revenue declined $11.5 million, or about 15 percent, compared with March 2014, according to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency. Those casinos are Maryland Live, Rocky Gap Casino Resort, Hollywood Casino Perryville and Casino at Ocean Downs.
Year-over-year revenue comparisons for the four casinos that were open a year ago show a lower total for every month since September, when their combined revenue declined just over 8 percent from a year before.
A sixth casino, the MGM National Harbor in Prince George's County, is expected to open next year, no earlier than July.
