Thursday's announcement by Cannery Casino Resorts, the Meadows' parent company, included the replacement of most of the barns, stalls, gates and paving. It's part of a US$ 10 million investment over 10 years that was required by the owners under state law.
“These investments confirm our commitment to providing high-quality harness racing for years to come,” said Kevin Decker, director of racetrack operations for The Meadows, in a statement. “While not seen by the public, these improvements will have a lasting impact on the drivers, trainers, staff, along with the health of the horses.”
