Luxor Hotel and Casino and Excalibur Hotel and Casino President Renée West, the first woman ever named president of a Strip resort, will retire in April, MGM Resorts International said Friday.

Renée West will be replaced by two people. Nik Rytterstrom was named general manager of Luxor on Friday. Ann Hoff has been general manager of Excalibur since 2014. West has been the president of the two Strip resorts since 2010.

She joined MGM Resorts in 2000 as vice president of human Resources at the three Primm Valley Resorts. She was soon named president of the casinos, the first woman in the company’s history to oversee a property.

In 2005, West was promoted to president at Excalibur. Four years later, she took over as president of Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. “For 15 exciting years, Renée has been a well-respected and pioneering leader within MGM Resorts International, our industry, and our community,” said MGM COO Corey Sanders.

Rytterstrom, who has been with MGM Resorts since 1999, most recently served as general manager of the company’s Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica, Mississippi.
