(UK).- Inspired Gaming Group announced that it has completed the acquisition of the main assets and employees of UK-based social games content developer, We R Interactive.

Completion of the deal sees Inspired acquire game titles I AM PLAYR and We R Football, with all existing employees being retained. The addition of these assets into Inspired’s game development division supports the business’ strategy to provide premium and differentiated entertainment, across all platforms.

We R Interactive sits at the crossover of technology and entertainment. Its first product, I AM PLAYR, is an award-winning football game that lets the user play the life of a professional footballer, and has been enjoyed by 20 million people worldwide. Its latest game, We R Football, builds on this heritage to deliver a fast paced immersive football experience foremost designed for a mobile audience and their high frequency game consumption.

According to IDC, the worldwide installed base for mobile (smartphone/tablet) gamers has recently eclipsed one billion – by incorporating the social gaming content expertise of We R Interactive, Inspired aims to increase its brand awareness and appeal to a new demographic of mobile players.

Luke Alvarez, Founder and CEO of Inspired Gaming Group, comments: “Mobile is a key focus for Inspired and our customers, and the rise of social games on mobile devices has some interesting lessons for the real-money gambling world in terms of player engagement and entertainment. This acquisition reinforces our leadership in virtual sports on mobile and opens our content up to a new group of gamers. The We R Interactive team is passionate, smart and forward-thinking – they are a great fit with Inspired and our culture.”

Jonathan Boyers and Graham Pearce of KPMG advised We R Interactive on the sale process.
