(US) .- Atlantic City's casino industry is looking forward to leaving 2014 behind in the rearview mirror after having suffered its worst year on record. However, the folding of four of its casinos seems to have stabilized the market for the remaining eight venues a trend that will be closely watched in 2015.

Four of its twelve casinos shut down this past year, leaving 8,000 workers jobless and revenue still continues to plunge. Tropicana president Tony Rodio expressed his hope that the worst is over.

Many developments are expected to take shape in 2015, including: the outcome of state efforts to help the struggling resort town,; a decision on whether PokerStars can join New Jersey's Internet gambling market, the fate of the former Revel Casino and a push for a statewide referendum on whether casinos should be allowed elsewhere in the state.
