(Macau).- The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau has declared that VIP gaming promoters must certify that their clients have no criminal record before opening accounts for them.

Business Daily quoted unidentified sources in the gaming business as saying that a notice circulated by the bureau on December 19 stated the rule will come into force on January 1.

It quotes one source as saying: “This could really impose a big impact on new VIP gaming clients, especially those from mainland China, as the new measure would mean more inconvenience for them to have an account here to issue commissions or withdraw gaming capital, and they could only rely on local gaming promoters.”
