(US).- Six business in the Toledo area suspected of operating as illegal casinos have been shut down by the Attorney General’s office. Attorney General Mike DeWine said in a statement, “Those operating these businesses are suspected of operating casino gaming devices where winners were paid in cash, which is in violation of Ohio law.”

DeWine also added, “While skill games and sweepstakes may be legal, electronic terminal games with cash payouts are not, and we will seek to hold accountable those who operate illegal casinos with no regulatory oversight.”

The locations of the six are: Talk N Win, 213 Main Street, Toledo; Talk N Win, 3555 Navarre Avenue, Oregon; Surf's Up, 3156 Navarre Avenue, Oregon; Talk N Win, 121 South Fifth Street, Fremont; Talk N Win, 7525 Patriot Drive, Findlay and Talk N Win, 1500 North Clinton Street, Defiance.

Electronic gaming devices that award cash payouts are considered slot machines. These cash awards are permissible only at the state’s 11 regulated casinos and racinos.
