Betfred taps Nicola Barr as finance director

(UK).- Gambling company BetFred has announced the appointment of Nicola Barr as its new finance director. Barr first joined BetFred in 2006 and most recently served as group financial controller. She will replace Barry Nightingale, who has already confirmed that he will step down as group finance director in January to take up a role with travel group Monarch.
John Haddock, chief executive of BetFred, said: “Nicola has been with Betfred since January 2006. In that time Nicola has progressed from being our call center and internet financial accountant to head of reporting and then to group financial controller.” Barr played a huge role during the company's acquisition of The Tote in 2011, which made a significant impression on her superiors.
Haddock continued, “We would like to wish Barry Nightingale all the best and thank him for his contributions to Betfred.”
