Have your expectations been met at SAGSE?
This year’s SAGSE Argentina was of a smaller scale with regards to the number of exhibitors and visitors. It seems that the import restrictions in the country imposed by the local government have altered the business climate significantly. The trade policy of Argentina had been the hot topic among our circles during the event and the overall impressions were not positive. Nevertheless I am hopeful of a reasonable future outcome of the situation.
What can you say about the performance of your company in the show?
In spite of the reduced size of the exhibition, our booth for Euro Games Technology was among the most-visited. We welcomed representatives from the biggest land-based casinos in Argentina, as well as operators from neighboring Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile. The remote location of Argentina didn’t turn out to be an obstacle for visitors from Peru and Columbia. They also had a warm reception at our booth.
What products did you exhibit? What are their main features?
All the visitors took notice of our Premier P-24/24 Up cabinet and the new multi-game mixes presented by EGT in Argentina. Much of the attraction was the jackpot system Egypt Quest and the STORK multi-player terminal, with its high potential for individual solutions.
The overall opinion for our machines reflected on their high quality, elegant and good-looking design and the well-chosen games in the library mixes.
You have unveiled Egypt Quest jackpot at SAGSE. Can you tell us more about this system? How was the customer feedback?
Egypt Quest is a four-level progressive jackpot system. The jackpot levels are achievable through the bonus game, triggered by special symbols or randomly during the base games and free spins. The player may win the jackpot with any bet placed, however, the higher the bet, the better the chance to get the most desirable Platinum level.
The Egypt Quest Multi-1 library includes six 5-reel 20- or 40-line games with fixed maximum bet. All of them generated positive reviews during SAGSE Argentina because of their high quality graphic and varied thematic. The jackpot system uses a specially designed cabinet – the Premier 24/32V Up EQ with a 24-inch touch screen monitor and a 32-inch portrait-oriented display. The received feedback about it accentuated on its ergonomic and at the same time attractive look.
How do you see the Argentine market?
EGT’s office in Argentina was opened 4 years ago. We are gradually extending our market presence and so far our Vega Vision and Vega Vision+ products have been installed in some of the biggest land-based casinos in the country. Since there are import restrictions, it is not realistic to make ambitious plans for the sales. We are planning though, to launch in the country all of our new products as they have proven very successful everywhere they have been presented and this makes me confident in a positive reception also in Argentina.
What are your future plans for Latam?
In Latin America we sell our Premier P-24/24 Up slot machine and the STORK multiplayer terminal best. For Uruguay last year, we had appointed Pallana S.A. as our representative and now we are in a process of concluding several deals with the biggest land-based casinos. Also in Paraguay there are a number of forthcoming installations. We are planning to hit the market in Chile before the end of this year again with our flagman – the Premier P-24/24 Up.
