(Sweden).- Betsson has purchased a 20 percent stake in Swedish start-up mobile gaming developer Rush Sports, with a three-year option to acquire the remaining part of the company.

Rush Sports is the company behind applications such as Rush Football, which allows event-driven real-time betting, as well as Forza Football and Forza ’90.

Rush Football offers punters the chance to follow matches and place bets based on match events in the same window.

The investment in Rush Sports is part of Betsson’s investment strategy, in which Betsson continually evaluates opportunities to strengthen the company's position in the market," Betsson president and chief executive, Magnus Silfverberg, said.

"We believe in this investment and look forward with enthusiasm on the development of Rush Sports AB and Rush Football.”

Martin Lindau, chief executive of Rush Sports, added: “We want to develop the best products within mobile sports betting. With help from Betsson, Rush Football has all the possibilities of becoming another success.”
