(US).- The state's Gaming Facility Location Board held its third and final hearing on plans by developers hoping to open gambling facilities in upstate New York. Residents of New York's Finger Lakes and Southern Tier are weighing in on three competing casinos proposed for the area.

Wednesday's hearing was the third and final day for the state's Gaming Facility Location Board to receive public input on plans by developers hoping to open gambling facilities in upstate New York. Separate hearings were held in Albany on Monday for the Capital Region and in Poughkeepsie on Tuesday for the Catskills/Hudson Valley region.

The board is expected to announce up to four winning bids for casino licenses spread among the three regions later this fall.

There are three applicants in the Southern Tier/Finger Lakes region: Tioga Downs, Traditions in Johnson City near Binghamton and Lago in Tyre in Seneca County.
