(UK, exclusive Yogonet.com).- Samuel Miranda, Marketing Director for Castle Casino, talked to Yogonet.com about the recent launch of a website for Spanish-speaking players, as part of a strategy to expand the brand’s presence in international markets. The online casino has recently released new languages, new IGS slots and a “Royalty Club”. “We’ve seen that the Spanish- speaking communities have become more interested in gambling,” he said.

Castle casino released an online website for Spanish-speaking players. Why have you decided to do so?
Well, we’ve obviously realized the potential of the Spanish-speaking market. For example in Google, there are a 165,000 monthly searches for the word “tragamonedas” (which is the Spanish for “slot machines”), and there are also 12,000 monthly searches for the term “ruleta online” (which is the Spanish word for “online roulette”), so we understand that there is a massive Spanish-speaking market. At Castle, all of the English content is translated by professionals, and we offer Spanish-language support and we also offer US dollar and euro currency. We are trying to basically retain players and incentivize them to play at the casino through things like promotions, like Royalty Club, Welcome Bonus, or football tickets and holidays. In that way, people who play at the casino will be given tickets to win different electronic items, like i-pads, computers, etc. That’s a summary of our latest key developments.

What are the main markets for your company?
Our most active markets are the UK and France. And one of the reasons we want to enter the Spanish-speaking market is that we are one of the few casinos that have a license to enter what we call “grey” markets. A grey market (like in Argentina, Peru, Mexico) is a market in which although it is legal for gambling companies like ourselves to be regulated outside the country and to provide services, we are not officially recognized by the domestic authorities. So a “grey market” is when the law is ambiguous and still allows some companies like ourselves to operate. And that is one of the reasons we have decided to open a site for the Spanish-speaking markets.

Another reason is because gambling is becoming more and more popular. A few months ago, for example, Luis Suarez, from Uruguay, was named Ambassador for the big gambling brand, 888. Also, with the World Cup in South America, we’ve seen that the Spanish- speaking communities have become more interested in gambling.
